Clock Tower at the Santa Barbara Courthouse now ADA Accessible

View from the Clock Tower is AMAZING!

The Santa Barbara Courthouse clock tower has reopened after making improvements for those with mobility challenges.
Santa Barbara County held a small ceremony earlier today with an inaugural elevator ride for the reopening of the clock tower now that access improvements are complete.
Up until this month's reopening, the 40-year old tower elevator stopped short of the observation tower landing. A short series of steps had to be climbed to reach the top level, making sweeping vistas inaccessible to people with mobility challenges.
The elevator modernization project was paid for by a combination of federal stimulus dollars and bond money for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance work.
Now the panoramic views from the historic observation deck are accessible to everyone.
