Shopping and skating—potentially a match made in heaven. Thankfully, the folks behind Meet Your Makers and Cultivate Eventsare bringing these two together for the first annual Holiday Shop n’ Roll, taking place from Saturday, December 14 through Sunday, December 22, at Earl Warren Showgrounds (3400 Calle Real).
Head to the expansive market to find gifts for everyone on your list, whether they’re a budding chef or a fashionista. With artisanal foods and gifts aplenty, demonstrations for making homemade sustainable gifts, fresh eats from local chefs, and, of course, a skating rink, the Holiday Shop n’ Roll has a little something for everyone. Much like past events that Cultivate Events’ founder Katie Falbo and Meet Your Makers’ Valerie Velazquez have been involved with (such as Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival and SOL Food Festival), Holiday Shop n’ Roll offers a unique chance to connect with local purveyors (and get your roller disco on!), emphasizing Santa Barbara’s sustainable culture.
Not only do your purchases provide a foundation of sustainability for our local producers, but they’ll also work to benefit the SBCC Center for Sustainability and the Eco-Entrepreneurship Program.
