Our One-of-a-kind Courthouse
By David DeSelm

Wednesday, April 21 and 28
5:00 pm

Grab a glass of wine and join us from your living room as urban design architect and historic preservation advocate David DeSelm shares the fascinating history of our Courthouse from design to National landmark distinction:

In part one, learn how losing an architectural design contest was one of the best things to happen to Santa Barbara and what inspired community leaders to decide that the Courthouse should be designed in the architectural style of southern Spain.

In part two, we'll look at key events and people who shaped the Spanish image of Santa Barbara, the unique and quirky design elements that make the Courthouse so special and the creativity of two architects whose talents produced such an extraordinary building.
