A collaborative celebration of the Total Solar Eclipse with Las Cumbres Observatory, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation, The Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit, and Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

August 12 -20: Eclipse Planetarium Shows
  • Daily at 1:00PM, 2:00PM, and 3:00PM at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. 
  • Tickets available at the Museum's admissions office. Free for members; $4 for non-members with paid Museum admission. 
August 14: Science Pub: The Great American Eclipse
  • 6:30pm at Dargan’s Irish Pub

August 18: Science on Site – The Sun and Moon
  • 11:00AM- 2:00PM at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

August 21: View the Eclipse live from the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Palmer Observatory
  • 9:00AM -11:45AM at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.
  • Free Public Program, no registration is required. This is before Museum Hours, please meet at the Whale Skeleton for directions to the observatory. Eclipse glasses are available in the Museum store for $2.00 and will be available after August 11, 2017. 
The Eclipse will be broadcasted live online at https://www.facebook.com/sbmnh/ on August 21 from 10:00AM- 10:30AM.
