In Congress, July 4, 1776



We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are

created equal, that they are endowed

by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,

that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

 That to secure these rights,

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just

powers from consent of the governed.
 
That whenever any

form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is

the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute

new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and

organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most

likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Santa Barbara Zoo to reopen to the public, June 23

The Santa Barbara Zoo announces a phased approach to safely reopening its doors to the Santa Barbara community. After being closed to guests since mid-March, the Zoo will reopen to the general public on Tuesday, June 23, by online reservation only. Before the official reopening, the Zoo will hold a soft opening for its Members June 20 - 22, also by online reservation only. The soft opening with Zoo members will help Zoo staff observe high-traffic areas, traffic patterns and make adjustments as needed.
Following guidelines set by the State and County, the Zoo has implemented a number of safety enhancements and modifications to protect the health and safety of all guests, staff, and animals. In order to properly manage the number of guests in the park, online reservations will be required for both paid guests and Zoo members. Guests can use the online reservation system to book a timed entry slot prior to visiting the Zoo. A complete guide to the new safety enhancements and modifications can be found on the Zoo’s website
Guests are also encouraged to consider becoming a Zoo Member now to enjoy early access to the Zoo as early as June 20, click here to sign up online. The Zoo is also still accepting registrations for Zoo Camp! Summer Zoo Camp is June 22–August 14 and is for children ages 3–12. The Zoo is offering three options for Zoo Camp, including Camp in a Box, FamCamp, and traditional Zoo Camp.
