About the California Avocado Festival ®
The California Avocado Festival Board of Directors would like to thank all who support AVOFEST™! Your support through sponsorship, volunteering, visiting or just coming to enjoy the delicious avocados is the force behind our efforts.
We are a 501c3 created to help support other service organizations, so thank you to everyone for your continued enjoyment of the California Avocado Festival!
As we prepare for the 29th annual festival, we review our successes of 2014. We had over 100,000 visitors over the course of the three-day weekend that came to celebrate the avocado. Our participating Non-Profits and Service Organizations were able to create $80,000 worth of funds that went back to the community through their initiatives. Our free doggie day care had over 100 dogs kept happy, cool, and entertained while their owners enjoyed the festival! And once again, we were able to reach our goal of Zero Waste! CELEBRATE THE AVOCADO!!!
We are one of the largest FREE festivals in California with over 75 music acts on FOUR stages. We will not disappoint this year!! Check out our “Stages” tab for more info and line-up updates! You can also find them on our Facebook Page in late August.
Come celebrate the importance of the avocado to the Carpinteria Valley by visiting the Expo Tent! The AvoEXPO TENT is home to Avocado agricultural photos, historical photos, lessons in avocado grafting, FFA restored antique tractors, and the Largest Avocado Contest.
The festival is also home to the WORLD’S LARGEST Vat of Guacamole! Our FOOD VENUE, that has plenty of avocado dishes, can be found on the 800 Block of Linden. Come hungry, and enjoy some avocado creations!!!
Our ARTS & CRAFTS Venue on Linden’s 600 block and COMMERCIAL MARKETPLACE at the 900 and 700 Blocks on Linden Avenue are open for your enjoyment all three days of the festival! You and your family can also head to 7th Street for the CHILDREN’S VENUE, where there will be lots of fun games, face painting, and bouncers!
Don’t miss the Best Guacamole contest and Avocado Auction, Sunday at the Guac and Grotto Stage on 8th Street!

IN HONOR OF THE AVOCADO… GO GREEN!
Here are some of the high standards that the California Avocado Festival maintains, allowing us to create a GREEN environment.
• The Festival is a No Styrofoam Zone
• Biodiesel is used for Festival Generators
• The California Avocado Festival is ZERO WASTE!
• The Festival will be using LED lighting in our Commercial Venue to reduce power usage.
• The Festival Honors the City's Ordinance on Outdoor Smoking
Make sure you get to Avofest safely! Check out our “Getting Here” tab for information on directions, parking, with shuttles provided by Jump on the School Bus, and Amtrak promotional offers.

This year, California Women for Agriculture is hosting a Walk-Through FLOWER TENT, which can also be found on the 700 block of Linden.
You and your family can also head to 7th Street for the CHILDREN’S VENUE, home of the Best Dressed Avocado Contest! There will be lots of fun games, face painting, and bouncers for all to enjoy!
