The Solstice Workshop this year will be in a new location at 515 Garden Street.  The workshop opens May 2, with regular workshop hours, from 3 to 8 pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and noon to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The core of the Santa Barbara Solstice Celebration begins with the Community Arts Workshop. It hosts a diverse cross-section of the Santa Barbara community working side-by-side on their magical creations, and features a special Children’s Area designed to encourage kids and their parents to participate in artistic expression and creativity. People from all economic groups, able-bodied to disabled, all derive joy in this collaborative project.
All participants in the Solstice Parade must register as part of the Workshop and/or Parade.

Celebrate Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th

In Honor of Those Who
Have Died In Our Nation's Service

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day.
Major General John A. Logan led the campaign in 1868 that proposed
a day be set aside to decorate the graves of the Civil War soldiers with flowers.
Logan chose May 30 as the day because flowers would be in bloom
all over the country. In 1971, the Monday Holiday Law shifted
Memorial Day from May 30 to the last Monday of the month.
The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans
to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for
one minute of silence to remember and honor those who
have died in service to the nation.

Little Black Dress Event

Santa Barbara Fashionistas
always at the forefront of
FUN!

70 ladies wore their timeless fashion icon,
The Little Black Dress
introduced in 1926 by Coco Chanel

The LBD became synonymous with all
things chick and elegant in 1961
When Audrey Hepburn
starred as Holly Golightly in
Breakfast at Tiffany's

If it is chick today, it will be 10 years from now

as evidenced by our own
Val who wore her 1957 engagement dress
to our LBD event!

There is no limit to what a LBD can be or do,
says NY based fashion stylist Lucy Knaus

What makes it special is how you accessorize it!

thank you Audrey for your classically timeless appeal!

The essence of the LBD is that it can be worn by
women of all shapes, sizes and ages!
Especially when worn with a smile!

"setting the scene 50's glamour style"

Modern fashionistas added a bit of Princess Kate to the set

and...of course, anything Tiffany is timeless!

Timing is everything!
Miss Golightly's NY storied hideaway is now for sale!

The pied-a-terre located on Manhattan's Upper East Side
is listed  for $5.85 million!
